Youth Camp 2023

You are invited!

All Saints' Westboro Anglican Church Youth Ministry Team is organizing a youth camp for youths 10 to 18 years old.

The invitation is for all who are interested to join us! Anglican, Lutheran, friend, and neighbour.

It certainly feels like a long while since the last time we organized a youth camp and so we are flexing our muscles to see if we can still put a weekend of conversations, exploration of spiritual practices,  and fun together! Especially in a context where we are being challenged to live with compassion, empathy, and service, we hope to encourage, reinforce, and commission the goodness within all of us to be a light into the world.

We realize that youth are dealing with very different concerns than even the last generation. Faith and the world sometimes could feel disconnected and looking for a glimmer of hope could become a great challenge. As a leadership team, we hope to offer a time of respite and retreat. Our hope is that the weekend will be filled with an openness to one another as human beings, honouring how God has created us equal, and searching for ways to better love our neighbours. We, as a team, will be active listeners, aiming to create a safe and sacred space for youth to relax, reconnect, and re-energize before entering a time of final projects, tests, and exams for the month of June.

Will there be worship times? Probably not like what you would experience on a Sunday in the sanctuary nor should God be limited to only that. We will worship with an emphasis on being connected to nature and experiencing God in Creation.

Will there be music? You bet! If you play an instrument, feel free to bring your guitar or recorder just in case the Spirit moves and you want to join in to make a joyful noise in worship. We will learn music from different Christian traditions and countries, creating opportunities to sing with Christians all around the world, and praying for peace and justice for all.
